Collegium Charter - 6

On a Tuesday afternoon, the Pioneers traveled to Downingtown Sports to play Collegium Charter and lost 6 to 4.  

The Pioneers played well, with a half time score tied, 3 to 3.

The Pioneers attack was led by Abby Mellinger with 3 goals and Mary-Ellen Picariello also had a goal on the afternoon. The Pioneers attack had 17 shots on goal, 25 ground ball pick ups and 9 draw control possessions. Strong attack from Lily Hunsberger, Aubrey Clemmer, Brielle Bauman, Sam Anderson and Emerson Gruver.

The Pioneers midfield was led by Abby Mellinger, Sophie Veltre and Jenna Detweiler, with excellent transition from defense to offense throughout the game. The Pioneers also had 4 eight meter shots in the game. 

The Pioneers defense was led by goalie Jenayah Alvarado Vanegas with 11 saves in the game.  Excellent defense from Olivia Veltre, Tess Bergey, Amanda Moyer and Ava Dunn. The Pioneers defense caused 9 turnovers and communicated well together in the game. 

The Pioneers together played excellent team defense to shut down Collegium's attack. The Pioneers are continuing to grow and learn and develop strong plays on both sides of the field.  

The Pioneers are looking forward to hosting league opponent Jenkintown on Thursday for a 3:45pm game at Dock.
